Role overview

Vuori is looking for a Director of Stores to guide its expanding store network and field leadership teams across the Eastern region. This position calls for a seasoned retail leader with strong energy, excellent communication, and a creative approach to problem-solving. The role will coach and support General Managers and District Managers, shape business strategy, and work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams. It serves as the key connection between field operations and headquarters, with the goal of strengthening performance and delivering a customer-first store experience.

Success in this role will be evaluated through measurable outcomes such as sales performance, customer satisfaction, and streamlined back-end operations. The Director will drive improvements, prioritize initiatives, manage several P&Ls, and lead cross-functional efforts to increase efficiency. This position reports to the VP of Stores.

Key responsibilities

  • Spot opportunities to improve the in-store customer experience and turn them into action.
  • Lead District Managers across the Eastern U.S. region.
  • Oversee daily store operations while building a culture of agility, continuous improvement, testing, and training among General Managers and District Managers.
  • Work with headquarters partners to meet store targets, support omni-channel goals, and create incentives that improve performance.
  • Partner with marketing and community teams on multi-channel initiatives that bring traffic, raise average order value, and build excitement around stores.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to improve inventory, operational processes, and support tools.
  • Track business patterns and work with corporate stakeholders to shape local growth plans and business initiatives.
  • Protect and reinforce Vuori’s culture and values at the store level.
  • Partner with People and Culture to strengthen organizational health across the store fleet and support life at Vuori.
  • Work with training and community teams to keep training content and in-store activations current and effective.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of retail experience, including senior leadership roles with well-regarded brands.
  • Strong ability to build trust and relationships at every level of an organization, with a history of creating high-performing, engaged teams.
  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to handle any task, regardless of size.
  • Solid strengths in organization, project management, and time management, with the ability to carry initiatives from idea to execution.
  • Proven success working across functions on major initiatives, with working knowledge of customer experience, analytics, growth marketing, and product.
  • Experience coaching and leading teams in both remote and in-person settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stay effective under pressure, and communicate clearly and reliably.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a data-driven approach to solving problems.
  • Entrepreneurial, persistent, and execution-focused mindset.
  • Clear, direct, and transparent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Availability to visit stores 2 to 3 days each week.
  • Willingness to travel three times per month, including weekends and overnight trips.
