Role overview

The company is recruiting Desktop Support Engineers at Band 1 and Band 2 levels for opportunities in Germany. The position requires strong hands-on desktop support experience, the ability to handle technical incidents independently, and fluency in German at B2 to C1 level. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.

Work location

The role is based onsite in Germany, with opportunities in Stuttgart or Karlsruhe (76135), Baden-Württemberg.

Technical support duties

  • Act as the second point of contact for resolving customer issues and technical incidents.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve complex antivirus-related problems.
  • Keep users informed with timely status updates and final resolution details.
  • Record and maintain accurate ticket updates for all incidents.
  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Windows desktop operating systems including XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10, along with Microsoft Office 2010, Cisco Jabber, and other approved desktop applications.
  • Provide basic support for Apple computers and macOS environments.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot printers and computer hardware.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance on desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Perform repairs on desktops, laptops, printers, and other approved peripheral devices.

Required experience and capabilities

  • At least 4 years of IT experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 7 to Windows 10, Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with PC hardware setup, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with enterprise antivirus platforms.
  • Working knowledge of helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices, including iOS and Android.
  • Knowledge of enterprise encryption tools and Windows laptop/PC management through Active Directory.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet SLA targets.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and internal customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-moving environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or other off-hours when required for projects or emergency support.
