About Hourglass Cosmetics
Hourglass Cosmetics is a vegan, cruelty-free luxury beauty brand focused on high-performance products, innovative formulas, and award-winning franchises. Founded in 2004, the company is recognized by major business and media outlets for innovation and is distributed globally across 32 markets and more than 4,600 retail doors, including Sephora, Ulta, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges, and Space NK. It became part of Unilever Prestige in 2017.
The in-house Creative and Content Studio produces a broad mix of content, with a growing emphasis on video-led assets and activations. The team is seeking a creative, deadline-focused, and highly collaborative designer who understands how marketing campaigns function, especially in retail, and can help shape consumer storytelling.
Role Overview
In this position, you will partner closely with the Senior Graphic Designer and Art Director on campaigns, branding, packaging, and a wide range of graphic design work. You will help bring marketing briefs to life while protecting the Hourglass brand identity across every consumer-facing touchpoint. The role calls for a strong design sensibility, attention to photography, typography, and visual consistency, and awareness of current beauty and luxury design trends.
This is a fast-moving opportunity within a growing luxury beauty business that values innovation, creative quality, and cross-functional teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Create design and branding assets for digital, mobile, social, e-commerce, in-store, and print use.
- Retouch product and campaign imagery and adjust color so that visuals stay aligned with brand standards and product accuracy.
- Adapt and resize existing creative into multiple formats and channel requirements while preserving consistency.
- Prepare print files by checking dimensions, die-lines, resolution, and production specs.
- Support packaging workflows by updating copy, shade ranges, and print-ready artwork with the correct bleed, die-lines, and resolution.
- Develop and maintain reusable templates for recurring digital and print needs such as email banners, paid social, retailer assets, and in-store signage.
- Contribute to seasonal campaigns and product launch materials across e-commerce, retailer kits, and organic social channels.
- Work with e-commerce, marketing, retail, and other internal partners to move projects forward.
- Keep the asset library well organized, labeled, archived, and easy for teams to access.
- Deliver projects on schedule and manage priorities effectively.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- You bring fresh ideas and a forward-looking creative approach.
- You stay organized and can manage several tasks at once without losing momentum.
- You have a strong eye for detail and value precision.
- You communicate well, work naturally with others, and can take initiative in collaborative settings.
- You adapt quickly when priorities shift and can pivot to meet changing deadlines.
- You are genuinely interested in beauty, branding, and creative strategy.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in beauty, fashion, luxury, agency, or in-house environments.
- A portfolio that demonstrates work across digital, social, web, and print; experience in beauty or consumer goods is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with image retouching and color correction, especially for product photography.
- Proven ability to resize and adapt creative for different formats and platforms.
- Working knowledge of packaging design and print production processes.
- Ability to respond to direction from Art Directors and Marketing and develop multiple design options.
- Comfort working under tight timelines and following projects through to completion.
- Understanding of social platforms, online ad specifications, and media requirements.
- Knowledge of web best practices, with an emphasis on beauty retail and editorial presentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain design choices to non-design stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Bridge, and Figma.
- Exposure to motion graphics or video editing is an added advantage.
- Ability to work from the corporate office at least 60% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base pay for this role is between $80,000 and $88,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, education, location, and budget.
This role is eligible for the company discretionary bonus plan, subject to individual performance and business results.
Eligible employees receive a benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life, accident, critical illness, and disability insurance; retirement savings plans with company match; paid family leave; education-related programs; paid holidays; discretionary vacation time; and additional benefits.
