Job Summary

Elgas Limited is seeking a diligent and reliable Delivery Driver to join our active team in Christchurch, New Zealand. The role requires a Class 2 driving license and a clear criminal record. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering and refilling LPG cylinders to residential and commercial clients, interacting directly with customers, and ensuring adherence to strict health and safety protocols for handling dangerous goods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and refill LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses within the region.
• Engage with customers directly, addressing inquiries and providing assistance.
• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety due to the nature of handling dangerous goods.
• Operate handheld computer delivery equipment.

Requirements

• Possession of a clean Class 2 driver's license with a minimum of two years of Class 2 driving experience.
• Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Previous experience in delivering goods.
• Physical fitness to handle the demands of lifting heavy items during deliveries.
• Willingness to undergo training for a Dangerous Goods license and LPG filling if not already possessed.
• Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
• Familiarity with the Christchurch region.
• Ability to pass background checks, including criminal history, ACC history, medical, and drug & alcohol screening.
• A proactive and responsible approach to Health and Safety.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and the flexibility to adapt to operational needs.

Eligibility

Applicants must possess a clean Class 2 driver's license, have at least two years of Class 2 driving experience, be physically fit, and be able to pass background checks including criminal history, ACC, medical, and drug/alcohol screening. A clean criminal history is mandatory. All genders are welcome to apply.

Additional Information

Working hours are Monday to Friday, starting around 06:30 AM and concluding no later than 05:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays required. The company is committed to technologies and products that balance customer value with sustainable development.
