Deli Assistant

Role overview

This full-time deli role is based in Ballindine, County Mayo. The main focus is to produce high-quality hot and cold deli items while keeping customer satisfaction at the forefront of every shift.

What the job involves

• Prepare fresh food orders across the deli and other fresh food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot food portions, and sliced meats while following store portion-control standards.
• Cook, assemble, and present food offerings throughout the day.
• Maintain excellent presentation standards across fresh food counters at all times.
• Engage with customers by offering product knowledge, recipe ideas, and helpful personal recommendations.
• Handle customer questions and concerns promptly, professionally, and according to store policy.

What the employer is looking for

• HACCP training would be helpful, although it is not a strict requirement.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in customer service is beneficial.
• Comfort working as part of a team in a busy, fast-moving environment.
