Role Summary

This is a full-time, mid-level leadership opportunity for a Distribution Center Head in Kolkata. The position calls for strong warehouse leadership and automation expertise, with responsibility for improving operational performance, strengthening team output, and keeping supply chain execution aligned with Reliance Retail’s business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of end-to-end distribution center operations and ensure they follow company standards and strategic priorities.
• Design, refine, and monitor warehouse processes to improve output, use space better, and deploy resources efficiently.
• Lead automation efforts by introducing technology-based improvements that reduce mistakes and increase operational flow.
• Supervise, encourage, and coach warehouse teams to build a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound movement of goods, inventory handling, and timely order dispatch.
• Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and merchandising teams to support planning and operational alignment.
• Handle relationships and contracts with third-party logistics partners, with attention to service quality, compliance, and cost control.
• Maintain workplace safety, statutory compliance, and risk-control practices across all DC activities.
• Track performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and share operational updates with senior leadership.

Qualifications And Skills

• Strong background in warehouse operations, including layout planning, stock control, and order processing.
• Practical exposure to automation tools and technology-led warehouse improvements.
• Proven capability to lead, develop, and inspire large operational teams.
• Solid understanding of supply chain workflows, including logistics, transport, and distribution.
• Experience working with SAP ERP for warehouse, inventory, and order tracking.
• Ability to improve order accuracy, throughput, and dispatch speed while maintaining service quality.
• Experience managing third-party logistics providers, SLAs, pricing discussions, and service reviews.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially around process gaps, safety concerns, and bottlenecks.
