Job description

Role Overview

VOLTO Consulting is hiring a Data Scientist for an onsite contract role based in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The position focuses on advanced analytics, machine learning, and enterprise AI delivery in a consulting environment.

Core Technical Requirements

  • Strong, practical experience with Palantir Foundry, including Pipelines, Code Repos, Ontology, Workshop, and Quiver.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Palantir AIP is preferred, especially for AI workflows, agents, decision intelligence, and AI-driven use cases.
  • Ability to connect large language models with Palantir AIP for enterprise applications.
  • Experience taking ML models into production within Foundry.
  • Solid command of exploratory data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning methods such as classification, regression, clustering, and time-series forecasting.
  • Strong programming capability in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with ML frameworks and libraries including Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Sound understanding of statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Comfort working with large enterprise-scale datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, anomalies, and major business drivers.
  • Use data-driven techniques to investigate and resolve operational, business, and performance issues.
  • Build, validate, and deploy predictive and prescriptive machine learning solutions.
  • Apply statistical methods, causal analysis, and hypothesis testing to support reliable insights.
  • Carry out feature engineering, model testing, and tuning to improve solution quality.
  • Design experiments and A/B tests to evaluate business impact.
  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation patterns where relevant to the use case.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to data quality, model behavior, and workflow execution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in client-facing and consulting settings.
  • Present analytical logic, assumptions, and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help drive adoption and measurable value from analytics and AI solutions.
