Role Overview
AXO is looking for a highly experienced Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics initiatives in Qatar, with a strong focus on utility-scale data, smart grid environments, and AMI-based infrastructure. This position calls for deep expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and operational optimization for large data-driven systems.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
- A master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or another closely related quantitative field.
- A professional certification in advanced data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence, backed by hands-on deployment experience.
- At least 13 years of advanced experience in analytics and statistical modeling, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in utility data, smart grids, or AMI systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, optimize, and deploy production-ready machine learning models and advanced predictive or prescriptive statistical solutions to improve large-scale utility grid operations.
- Run sophisticated predictive analysis on large data flows generated by Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) platforms.
- Create tailored analytical models for anomaly detection, automated tamper alerts, grid demand forecasting, and identification of non-technical losses in infrastructure.
- Deliver practical technical recommendations that improve the information flow between Handshake-to-HES (Head-End System) and MDM (Meter Data Management) systems.
