Data Reporting Analyst

Role overview

An established organisation is looking for a hands-on reporting professional with deep Power BI and SQL experience to strengthen its business intelligence capability. This fixed-term contract is designed for someone who can work in a data-heavy environment, collaborate with stakeholders, and build reporting solutions that are practical, reliable, and easy for business users to consume.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clarify, and define reporting needs across multiple business areas.
• Analyse data and perform validation checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Resolve data quality issues and improve the reliability of reporting outputs.
• Redesign and strengthen reports using Power BI, SQL, and Azure-based tools.
• Create self-service reporting solutions that improve access to information for business users.
• Build and refine data models that support dashboards and reporting layers.
• Develop clear, engaging reports and dashboards that support decision-making.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand how reports are used in day-to-day operations.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Power BI and SQL, along with a solid track record of identifying and fixing reporting or data issues. A commercial mindset, a practical approach to analytics, and the confidence to question low-value reporting requests are important for success in this role.

You should be delivery-focused, comfortable working across business and technical teams, and capable of operating in an environment where priorities and requirements may change.

Eligibility

Applicants must be an Australian Permanent Resident, an Australian Citizen, or hold a valid working permit.
