Role overview
The Data Item Management Coordinator supports the governance and ongoing enhancement of item master data across the company’s ERP and connected systems. The position focuses on keeping item information accurate, complete, standardized, and consistent for use across procurement, fleet, marine, offshore, dredging, and project activities.
Beyond core master data work, this role also contributes to digitalization efforts, process automation, and AI-supported improvements. It helps shape data standards, naming rules, smart search functionality, enrichment initiatives, and AI-based solutions that raise efficiency and improve data quality.
Serving as a key contact for item data governance, ERP master data support, reporting, process improvement, and digital transformation, the coordinator helps ensure item data can be relied on across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, revise, and administer item master records in ERP platforms.
- Make sure item data follows governance rules and remains complete, accurate, and standardized.
- Review item requests and confirm technical details before creating or changing records.
- Manage item classification frameworks, naming standards, and coding rules.
- Track item data quality and drive continuous improvement.
- Spot and remove duplicate, outdated, or conflicting item records.
- Look for opportunities to improve item-data workflows with AI and automation.
- Use AI tools for cleansing, classification, enrichment, validation, and reporting support.
- Build and support AI-assisted processes for item creation and ongoing maintenance.
- Apply tools such as Microsoft Copilot and similar technologies to boost productivity and data quality.
- Contribute to RPA and digital transformation initiatives tied to procurement and master data.
- Assess new technologies and suggest practical solutions for process optimization.
Required background
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is needed. Professional certifications in Data Management, ERP Systems, Business Analysis, AI Applications, or Process Improvement are a plus.
The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of experience in item data management, master data management, procurement support, ERP administration, or similar work. Hands-on exposure to ERP platforms such as Infor LN, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable systems is expected. Experience with data governance, data quality, data validation, and user/stakeholder support is important. Background in maritime, dredging, offshore, logistics, engineering, or project environments is preferred. Experience using AI tools, automation technologies, data migration, and system implementation projects is advantageous. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and solid ERP knowledge are also required.
Additional information
You will be part of the Procurement team and will mainly work from the Abu Dhabi office.
