Role overview

Data cleaning and transformation

  • Bring together information from several source systems, then clean and standardize it so financial reporting remains accurate and consistent.
  • Create repeatable and scalable data-preparation processes using tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Help move spreadsheet-driven processes into more structured data pipelines.

Reporting automation and process improvement

  • Build automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
  • Enhance Power Query workflows to make data extraction, transformation, and loading more efficient.
  • Maintain clear documentation for all automated workflows so handovers and continuity are easier.

Power BI dashboard development

  • Design interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Develop and maintain data models, DAX measures, and KPI frameworks that support business goals.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to convert requirements into practical visual reports.

Financial modelling and analysis

  • Contribute to financial models used for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting packs.
  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests as needed.

Technical profile

  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas.
  • Good command of Power Query, including M language, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Hands-on experience creating Power BI dashboards with modelling and DAX.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate and VBA macros.
  • Python, SQL, or database-querying experience is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications and experience

  • A diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, or a similar field.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience in a finance, data, or analytical role.
  • Experience in the education sector is an added advantage, though not required.

Working style

  • Comfortable operating in a complex, data-rich environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to adapt quickly in a fast-moving setting where priorities may change.
