Job description

Role Overview

This contract opportunity is for an intermediate-level Data Analyst to support a diagnostics and animal healthcare organization through the end of the year. The role centers on database support, analytical work, and translating data into actionable insights that help drive operational and business goals.

The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who can begin quickly, work comfortably with data systems, and explain technical findings clearly to a range of stakeholders.

Engagement Details

  • Job type: Contract
  • Contract duration: Through the end of the year (EOY)
  • Pay rate: $45 to $50 per hour
  • Start: ASAP
  • Location: Hybrid, with local candidates preferred and ideally 2 to 5 days onsite each week
  • Work arrangement: W2 only; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted

Core Duties

The assignment is focused on delivering defined analytical outputs and supporting several initiatives, projects, and programs. Key work areas include database support, reporting, dashboard creation, data integrity checks, stakeholder communication, and process improvement documentation.

Additional Notes

This role requires someone who can contribute immediately and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. The position also involves researching anomalies in data, identifying missing or inconsistent information, and recommending practical solutions to improve data quality and analysis workflows.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python for analytical work
  • Background in data visualization and dashboard development, with the ability to present insights to non-technical audiences
  • Advanced familiarity with data management platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or LIMS, along with data quality practices
  • Solid knowledge of statistical techniques such as ANOVA, MTBF, and confidence intervals, as well as graphical presentation standards
  • Proven project management ability, including taking initiatives from idea stage through delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to people at different levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving ability, multitasking capability, and prioritization skills

Preferred Experience

Exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, and basic machine learning concepts would be considered an advantage.
