Job description

Role Overview

The Data Analyst II role focuses on examining business, operational, and performance information to surface patterns, support informed decisions, and strengthen reporting quality. The position works closely with stakeholders to collect requirements, define key performance indicators, and build dashboards and reports that make business performance easier to understand. It also contributes to clearer, more accurate data reporting and helps drive process improvements through analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to clarify business needs, collect data requirements, and help shape KPI, dashboard, and reporting solutions.
  • Review data from several sources to uncover trends, patterns, and differences in operational and business results.
  • Interpret findings to identify gaps, root causes, and actionable insights that support decision-making.
  • Help build and maintain performance measures and reporting structures used to monitor business goals and operations.
  • Create and present reports, dashboards, visual summaries, and presentations that communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Track data quality, spot inconsistencies, and assist with correcting issues so reports remain dependable.
  • Support new products, initiatives, or workflows by gathering data needs and helping track performance.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes through analysis of data.
  • Record data definitions, reporting steps, and standard operating procedures to promote consistency and accuracy.
  • Handle additional duties that align with the role’s overall objectives.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline is expected. Candidates with an equivalent mix of education and experience that meets the role’s requirements may also be considered.

Experience

This position calls for at least 2 years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, data management, business intelligence, or a similar field. Experience should include creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business or operational use, analyzing data from multiple systems, working with reporting and BI tools, and gathering requirements from stakeholders. Prior exposure to healthcare IT, SaaS, client success, professional services, implementation, product operations, or medical records software is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate understands data analytics, business intelligence, visualization methods, KPI monitoring, data warehousing basics, data structures, data definitions, and data quality practices. Familiarity with business systems and tools such as Salesforce, SAP, Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik is important, along with a working knowledge of quantitative analysis, trend analysis, and root-cause identification. Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and time-management skills are also essential.
