This role sits within Airtel Digital, the OTT entertainment vertical of a major telecom brand. The team is building a unified digital entertainment experience across products such as Airtel XStream, Live TV, and DTH, with a strong emphasis on innovation, personalization, and smarter content discovery.
Role Overview
The Product Analytics group in Gurgaon is hiring a Data Analyst to support work across customer personalization, engagement, revenue, and cost initiatives. The position involves generating insights that help leaders make well-informed decisions and partnering with product, tech, growth, marketing, and business teams on measurement and strategy.
This is a hands-on analytics role for someone who can independently own key metrics for a pod, work with data and business stakeholders, and also show curiosity toward AI/ML-based workflows to solve complex analytical problems. The role contributes to strategic data science and LLM-driven initiatives as well.
Key Responsibilities
- Study large user-behavior and content-consumption datasets to uncover practical business insights.
- Create dashboards and visual reports to monitor KPIs, product outcomes, and customer engagement.
- Develop advanced SQL queries and Python scripts to pull, clean, and prepare data for analysis.
- Use tools such as LLMs, machine learning, SQL, Python, and Excel for analysis, automation, and forecasting.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on experimentation, user segmentation, and personalization efforts.
- Convert business objectives into analytical questions and deliver recommendations based on evidence.
- Contribute to ETL work and improvements in data pipelines.
- Communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear, compelling, and impact-oriented manner.
- Work with product teams on tracking requirements and implementation of tools such as Clickstream, Google Analytics, Branch, and MoEngage.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to apply AI/ML insights in product analysis, including basic predictive modeling, sentiment analysis, and LLM-based data workflows.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech/BE in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or a background in Statistics or Operations Research.
- At least 3 years of practical analytics experience.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and Tableau.
- Strong ability in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn analysis into business-ready insights.
- Working familiarity with core machine learning ideas such as regression, classification, and clustering, along with hands-on use of AI APIs and prompt engineering for data synthesis.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to large-scale datasets and distributed processing frameworks like PySpark.
- Understanding of Airflow, ETL workflows, data build tools, and basic data engineering concepts.
- Ability to manage and communicate datamart plans for internal stakeholders.
- Academic exposure in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another quantitative field.
