Role overview
A well-established logistics and supply chain business is seeking a Customs Clearance Specialist for its Cork operation. The role supports the movement of goods across road, sea, and air freight routes, while ensuring all customs activity remains accurate, timely, and compliant. The company operates across Ireland, the UK, and international markets.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge import and export customs declarations accurately and within required timelines.
- Complete ENS, PBN, and related customs paperwork for road, sea, and air freight movements.
- Work with operations teams and overseas offices to keep cargo moving smoothly and maintain customs compliance.
- Coordinate with customers, customs bodies, and internal teams to collect documentation and resolve clearance issues.
- Create and update customs declaration templates to improve speed and consistency for repeat transactions.
- Contribute to customs compliance work and internal audits, supporting adherence to AEO standards and regulatory obligations.
- Spot process improvement opportunities and help strengthen overall customs operations.
Essential requirements
This role requires prior hands-on experience with Azyra. Applicants must have at least two years of direct experience using the Azyra Warehouse Management System (WMS) and customs processing tools; applications without this background will not be considered.
- 2 to 4 years of customs clearance experience in Ireland.
- Strong understanding of Irish Revenue customs rules and procedures.
- Practical experience preparing customs declarations for both imports and exports.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Very strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Capacity to work independently while balancing several priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience dealing with regulatory authorities such as DAFM, HSE, Port Health, and other government agencies.
