Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on credit risk handling and underwriting support for home finance transactions in Delhi. The role is centered on evaluating cases against internal policy, coordinating with internal teams and external verification partners, keeping records accurate, and helping maintain portfolio quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out credit and risk processing for assigned basic transactions in line with the company’s policies, frameworks, and lending principles across business lines.
  • Take proactive guidance from senior colleagues and build case-level understanding of technical, legal, and state- or property-specific factors that affect risk decisions.
  • Coordinate with legal, technical, and other verification agencies to obtain assessments and clarifications for complex files.
  • Track bounce rates and ensure they remain within the defined threshold.
  • Support efficient risk operations while balancing business needs with risk controls.
  • Work closely with Credit Processing Analysts to make sure case files are properly logged before credit action begins.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams through structured workflows to support decisions and resolve issues; escalate matters to the RCM when needed.
  • Manage external vendors effectively to maintain report quality and turnaround time.
  • Monitor costs carefully and keep them within planned budget limits.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in the LOS and maintain strong documentation standards.
  • Follow up for post-disbursement documents and collect them within the assigned timeline.
  • Prepare and submit periodic as well as need-based MIS, reports, and escalation-related documents in line with risk controls.
  • Operate under the maker-checker framework for exception approvals, collateral valuation, post-disbursement completion, cheque bounce collections, and related activities.
  • Work to keep audit observations to a minimum and close any findings within the required TAT.
  • Coordinate with Collections and Operations teams to track delinquent cases and support efficient recovery actions.
  • Escalate complex or specific delinquency cases to the RCM to help prevent recovery issues, delinquency growth, or NPA risk.
  • Monitor delinquent portfolios and work with key customers alongside the collections team to drive resolutions.
  • Report suspected fraud cases to the Risk Monitoring team and the Regional/Zonal Risk Head.
  • Strengthen underwriting capability through upskilling in legal and technical documentation, property market practices, and related norms.
  • Maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth handling of complex, exception, and escalation cases.
