Role overview

This role sits within a branding agency environment and focuses on building brands through strategy, narrative, identity, and design. The work is centered on helping organizations shape how they look, sound, and position themselves by creating thoughtful creative systems that align with business goals.

Unlike a conventional advertising or campaign-focused Creative Director position, this opportunity calls for someone who can partner with strategists, designers, writers, and senior leaders to solve complex business problems through brand thinking and creative direction. The role also involves working closely with one of the agency founders and leading cross-functional creative efforts across verbal and visual brand development.

Responsibilities

  • Own creative direction for brand strategy, identity, positioning, and transformation assignments.
  • Build strong brand narratives, messaging structures, creative ideas, and visual directions that turn strategy into tangible brand output.
  • Shape both copy and art direction, ensuring a unified experience across all brand interactions.
  • Work side by side with strategy teams to convert business insights into effective creative solutions.
  • Deliver creative presentations and strategic recommendations to senior client leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams made up of writers, designers, and strategists from early concepting through final execution.
  • Uphold a high creative bar while coaching, supporting, and motivating team members.
  • Contribute new cultural thinking and original ideas to every project.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience leading creative work in a branding or brand strategy agency setting.
  • Background must come from a branding-oriented agency or consultancy such as Interbrand, SYPartners, Design Bridge, Collins, Landor, Wolff Olins, Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR), Pentagram, Mucho, or an equivalent firm.
  • A strong portfolio showing work across brand identity, creative strategy, storytelling, messaging, conceptual development, and visual brand creation.
  • Ability to contribute to both written and visual creative work while managing integrated teams.
  • Track record of presenting to C-suite audiences and building credible client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation capabilities.
  • Genuine interest in building brands that address business challenges and create measurable value.
