Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha, Qatar. The Cost Controller will oversee cost monitoring and control across hospitality operations, covering outlets, catering, and events, while ensuring spending stays aligned with budget targets and commercial goals.
The role involves reviewing cost reports, examining variances, tracking inventory and usage, and supporting menu and service pricing decisions. The selected candidate will work closely with finance, procurement, and operations teams to strengthen control processes, keep cost records accurate, and identify practical opportunities to improve efficiency and margins. The position also includes preparing recurring cost performance reports, assisting with audits, and helping shape cost-related policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and manage operating costs across outlets, catering, and event activities.
- Review cost reports and investigate differences between actual and budgeted figures.
- Monitor inventory levels, product consumption, and usage patterns.
- Support pricing decisions for menus, services, and related hospitality offerings.
- Coordinate with finance, procurement, and operations to enforce cost control procedures.
- Maintain reliable and up-to-date cost records.
- Identify efficiency improvements and margin-enhancement opportunities.
- Prepare periodic reports on cost performance and findings.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of cost-control policies and practices.
Requirements
- Strong background in cost control and cost management for operational environments.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting and finance principles.
- Ability to analyze data, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prior exposure to hospitality or F&B cost control, inventory tracking, and menu costing is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP or POS-based cost systems preferred.
- Must be available for on-site work in Doha, Qatar.
- High attention to detail, strong integrity, and effective communication and teamwork skills.
