Job description
Role overview
Bumble Inc.’s Creative Studio is expanding quickly as it supports a global portfolio of apps, and the team is looking for a Copywriter to join its small but high-performing group. This position sits within an in-house creative team that works across regions and time zones, partnering with designers, art directors, video editors, producers, and external agency and production partners.
The role calls for a writer who is equally strong at coming up with sharp concepts and refining the craft of the final copy. You should be able to think strategically, tailor messaging to each platform, and develop ideas that feel fresh, relevant, and grounded in consumer insight. Work will cover a wide range of brand touchpoints, including social, digital, out-of-home, experiential, television, audio, and more. The role is based in the United States and reports to the Copy Lead.
Key responsibilities
- Create persuasive copy for a broad mix of channels and brand experiences across Bumble Inc.’s portfolio, including social, digital, in-app messaging such as CRM and ASO, out-of-home, experiential, influencer, TV, audio, and partnership campaigns.
- Work closely with designers, art directors, motion designers, and other creatives to produce cohesive work across all brands.
- Bring original ideas and a strong point of view to brainstorming sessions and concept development.
- Develop consumer-focused copy that is strategically grounded and expressed through culturally relevant storytelling.
- Present creative work to stakeholders and clearly explain the brief, the thinking behind the work, and how it supports business goals.
- Adapt writing for different platforms and objectives while applying channel best practices.
- Protect and maintain Bumble Inc.’s brand voice and standards across markets and touchpoints.
What the company is looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an exceptional portfolio that demonstrates equivalent capability.
- At least 3 years of copywriting experience, with in-house experience preferred.
- Strong command of copywriting fundamentals and excellent writing ability.
- Strong cultural awareness and a habit of staying informed on trends, insights, and wider culture.
- A positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to challenging briefs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the confidence to present and defend creative choices.
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teammates.
- Ability to stay effective in a fast-moving environment, manage several projects across time zones, and meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with careful attention to detail and a high sense of ownership.
- Highly conceptual thinking with the ability to produce breakthrough ideas that remain consumer-centric.
- Self-awareness, accountability, and consistent attention to quality whether working on a social caption or a full campaign.
- Alignment with the company’s brand vision and values.
