About Kajohn Thai Restaurant

Kajohn Thai Restaurant is a local dining establishment located at 10-6140 Young St in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate special events and manage kitchen operations.
  • Determine food portion sizes and associated costs.
  • Plan menus, estimate food requirements, and requisition necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including meals for customers with dietary restrictions (allergies, intolerances, vegan, gluten-free) and special dietary needs as per dietitian or chef instructions.
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
  • Train staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas thoroughly.
  • Organize buffets and banquets.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in cooking is required, with a preference for candidates with up to 2 years of experience.
  • Completion of secondary school (high school) is necessary.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for communication and following instructions.
  • Experience and specialization in Cantonese, Szechuan, Thai, Vegetarian, Gluten-free, and Vegan cuisines are highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail, ability to perform repetitive tasks, and manage time effectively are crucial.
  • Must possess a valid Criminal Record Check and be willing to undergo a Medical Exam.
