The Role: Cook

As a Cook at Nido Pennington, you will play a vital role in shaping children's healthy eating habits. You will be responsible for creating a positive and inspiring kitchen environment, utilizing your culinary creativity to prepare delicious and nutritious meals. This role involves hands-on teaching and acting as a role model for young children.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, healthy, and nutritionally balanced meals in accordance with Nido Menus.
• Manage the procurement of food and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure all dietary, allergy, and specific medical requirements for each child are meticulously managed, with a thorough understanding of risk minimization and communication plans.
• Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen at all times.

What You'll Bring

• A Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery is desirable.
• A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is required.
• Previous experience working in a childcare or aged care setting is preferred.
• A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• A strong understanding of food allergens and various dietary requirements.
• Candidates employed from April 1st must possess or be willing to obtain the Federally mandated ‘National Child Safety Training’ certificate via Geccko.
