As a Continuous Improvement Program Manager, you will guide strategic initiatives that raise operational performance across the business. The role is central to building a continuous improvement culture by using Lean, Six Sigma, and related performance-improvement methods. Microsoft is looking for someone with strong analytical ability, leadership qualities, and a history of delivering meaningful change.

Job Summary

This position calls for a data-led, outcome-focused Lean Six Sigma professional who can drive process improvement efforts across the organization. You will identify inefficiencies, investigate root causes, and implement durable solutions to cut waste, improve quality, and strengthen overall performance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver Lean Six Sigma initiatives that improve operational effectiveness.
  • Review business processes to find opportunities for lower cost, shorter cycle times, and better quality.
  • Run Kaizen workshops, value stream mapping exercises, 5S audits, and process walkthroughs.
  • Work closely with partners across Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, and HR to achieve measurable results.
  • Gather and interpret data with statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP, and Excel.
  • Create and update process documentation, SOPs, and control plans.
  • Coach and support Green Belts or Yellow Belts when needed.
  • Monitor progress and present results and ROI updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a similar field.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from ASQ, IASSC, or an equivalent body.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in process improvement or operational excellence.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Lean methods such as 5S, A3 reporting, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standardized work, error proofing, and takt time/cycle time analysis.
  • Experience using statistical analysis software such as Minitab, SigmaXL, or similar tools.
  • Strong ability to solve problems, facilitate discussions, and manage projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.

  • Number of projects delivered.
  • Cost savings and ROI generated through improvement work.
  • Reduction in defects and improvement in quality.
  • Improvement in lead time or process cycle time.
  • Employee participation and engagement in continuous improvement activities.
