Role overview

This is a Compliance Manager opportunity for a candidate based in the United States. The role is posted on behalf of a partner organization, which will handle applications and the next stages of the process. In this position, you will help strengthen compliance operations in a fast-moving, highly regulated financial setting. The work spans several compliance areas, including anti-money laundering, consumer protection, audit support, policy administration, and regulatory remediation. You will work with teams across the business to keep compliance frameworks effective, scalable, and aligned with changing legal and regulatory expectations. The role calls for strong analysis, project coordination, and the ability to handle complex work with limited oversight. It is well suited to someone proactive who enjoys taking ownership and driving meaningful improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the company’s compliance program, covering BSA, AML, policy upkeep, procedure management, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Help coordinate internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews, and support the resolution of issues that arise.
  • Assist with planning, carrying out, and tracking remediation efforts tied to regulatory findings, making sure deadlines, milestones, and deliverables stay on course.
  • Work with internal teams and outside advisors to move remediation work forward and communicate status clearly.
  • Create slide decks, dashboards, reports, committee packs, and executive-facing materials for compliance initiatives.
  • Manage customer communications tied to regulatory information requests and compliance-related questions.
  • Perform due diligence checks, compliance assessments, and ad hoc investigations when needed.
  • Support consumer compliance obligations, including requirements related to electronic fund transfers, payment products, customer disclosures, and fair treatment standards.
  • Take ownership of compliance policies and procedures, reviewing and updating them to reflect business changes and new regulatory requirements.
  • Look for ways to improve processes and help strengthen compliance controls and operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulators and support engagement activities with oversight bodies.
  • Contribute to special projects and broader compliance initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of compliance experience in financial services, banking, fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, or another regulated sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML rules, compliance program design, and risk management principles.
  • Background supporting regulatory audits, examinations, compliance assessments, and remediation programs.
  • Understanding of consumer compliance obligations, including electronic payment regulations and UDAAP standards.
  • Ability to manage several priorities and projects in a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience preparing regulatory documents, executive summaries, committee materials, and compliance presentations.
  • Excellent organization, strong attention to detail, and solid analytical thinking.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and stay effective in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience in fintech, digital assets, cryptocurrency, or emerging financial technology is preferred.
  • Exposure to banking regulators, examination processes, and regulatory relationship management is an advantage.
