Role overview

The Community Manager will be responsible for growing, engaging, and supporting the user community across forums, social channels, and user groups. The role focuses on creating an inclusive and positive environment, encouraging discussion, and strengthening the connection between users and the brand.

This position is fully onsite in Lisbon and involves working closely with cross-functional teams in person. Relocation support may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Create and run community engagement plans that help user groups grow and stay active.
  • Oversee and moderate online spaces such as forums, social media communities, and discussion platforms.
  • Interact with users by answering queries, guiding discussions, and encouraging constructive participation.
  • Plan and promote community-driven activities such as events, webinars, and live Q&A sessions.
  • Work with marketing, product, and support teams to deliver a smooth and consistent user journey.
  • Track community performance indicators and use insights to improve engagement efforts.
  • Spot and nurture advocates, ambassadors, and highly active users.
  • Keep current with developments in community management tools, methods, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain community rules and moderation policies that protect a welcoming environment.
  • Handle user issues carefully and escalate more complex matters to the relevant teams.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3 or more years of experience in community management, social media management, or customer engagement.
  • Background in managing online communities, discussion forums, or social groups such as Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups, Slack, or similar custom platforms.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and motivate users.
  • Hands-on experience with community-building tools and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to manage sensitive conversations, resolve conflicts, and apply community rules fairly.
  • Experience organizing and delivering community-led events or initiatives.
  • Strong interest in developing relationships and building loyalty around a brand.
  • Comfort using engagement data to refine strategy and improve outcomes.
  • Experience working in fast-paced digital environments with a user-first approach.
