Role overview

This position is for a Commis B in the Food and Beverage & Culinary team at a hotel property in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite at Salwa Road, Doha.

What you will do

You will assist with daily kitchen preparation and food production by handling ingredients, supporting cooking tasks, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. The role also involves following recipe requirements, quality expectations, and presentation standards.

  • Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients as needed for kitchen production.
  • Prepare both hot and cold food items in line with recipes, checklists, and service standards.
  • Use kitchen equipment such as ovens, stovetops, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and correctly.
  • Check food for proper doneness and monitor quality throughout the preparation process.
  • Set up and close down the work area, including serving food in the correct portions and on the right utensils or containers.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, tools, knives, tables, and equipment.
  • Verify that appliances and food are maintained at the correct temperatures.

Work standards and expectations

You will be expected to follow company policies, safety requirements, and security procedures at all times. Any maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately. The role also requires completion of safety-related training and certifications.

Required background

The preferred education level is a high school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D. qualification. Candidates should have at least 1 year of related work experience. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is specified.
