Overview
Centrecare is seeking a Case Worker for the ReSet program in Gosnells, Western Australia. This is a full-time onsite role focused on delivering throughcare support within a consortium model, working alongside the ReSet team and partner agencies. The role contributes to adult justice reintegration services and uses evidence-informed approaches to support rehabilitation and re-entry, aligned with the Department of Justice’s Individualised and Integrated Offender Management (IIOM) framework.
Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with more than 300 staff members, providing counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services across 11+ locations in the Perth metropolitan area, Goldfields and South West regions.
Wungening Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation that provides counselling, education, advocacy and support across drug and alcohol services, family violence support and accommodation, adult justice services, and early intervention family support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out client assessments and use the findings to create case plans and make appropriate referrals.
- Deliver case management and counselling support that assists people with reintegration after justice involvement.
- Keep accurate records such as case notes, assessment documents and support plans.
- Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Assess family and domestic violence risk, develop safety plans, and manage identified risks.
- Assist people in crisis by connecting them to specialist services and tailoring throughcare support to their needs.
Selection Criteria
- Background in clinical and counselling work within an adult justice reintegration or similar support environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Criminology and Justice, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in a justice-related setting, including case management and counselling responsibilities.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in a culturally responsive manner.
- Current Western Australian driver’s licence with at least 12 months remaining.
- Capacity to obtain a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Integrity Check.
- Capacity to obtain a Working With Children Check.
