About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Captain-Bellstand to join their team in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, onsite position is responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing bellstand operations, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. The role involves assisting guests with luggage, providing information about hotel facilities and local attractions, and coordinating transportation. You will also play a part in upholding the company's standards of service and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and inform guests about hotel amenities, services, and operating hours, as well as local points of interest and activities.
  • Open doors and assist guests and visitors with entering and exiting the hotel.
  • Assist with the storage and retrieval of luggage.
  • Transport guest luggage to and from rooms and/or the bellman service.
  • Aid guests and visitors in boarding and exiting vehicles, including loading and unloading luggage.
  • Provide directions to guests.
  • Arrange guest and visitor transportation (e.g., taxi, shuttle) and make advance reservations as needed.
  • Assign bellhops based on operational needs.
  • Inform guests and visitors about parking procedures.
  • Follow up on guest requests or issues to ensure their complete satisfaction.
  • Serve as a role model for service delivery and assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Develop and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with peers.
  • Adhere to all chain safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Protect the exclusive confidentiality and proprietary information of the company.
  • Support all colleagues and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Support the team in achieving common goals.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg) without assistance.
  • Assist in moving, lifting, carrying, transporting, and placing objects weighing more than 75 pounds (34 kg).
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for the entire work shift.
  • Move at a speed that is required to respond to workplace situations (e.g., run, walk, jog).
  • Read and visually review information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and shape that require fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Reach for objects above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move over sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Ascend and descend stairs and service ramps.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Speak to others using clear, appropriate, and professional language and answer the telephone using appropriate etiquette.
  • Listen to and respond appropriately to guest and employee concerns.
  • Use clear and courteous language in all communications.
  • Remain vigilant to deter unwanted persons from the property.
  • Perform other duties as requested by managers and that are consistent with the position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Less than 1 year of supervisory experience.
