About the Role

As a Business Development Representative, you will help drive growth by finding and creating new business opportunities. The role involves reaching out to prospective customers, learning about their needs, and presenting Swap’s solutions as the right fit for their challenges. It is best suited to someone highly driven, target-oriented, and genuinely interested in sales and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research target accounts and pinpoint the key decision-makers you should engage.
  • Build new lead pipelines through cold calls, email outreach, social selling, and networking activities.
  • Screen incoming leads and convert qualified prospects into booked discovery meetings.
  • Speak with prospects to understand their business priorities, pain points, and objectives.
  • Present Swap’s products and services clearly through phone, email, and social channels.
  • Develop trusted relationships through regular follow-up and helpful, value-focused communication.
  • Work closely with Account Executives to shape engagement plans for assigned prospects and support revenue goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry shifts to position Swap effectively.
  • Measure and report on performance indicators such as conversion rates, pipeline growth, and overall business development output.
  • Keep CRM records accurate and up to date for all prospect interactions.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, ideally in technology or e-commerce.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Good organizational ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Apollo, along with other sales enablement tools, is preferred.
  • A self-starter mindset with a strong focus on results and business growth.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

Compensation Note

For candidates based in New York, the base salary for this role is $60,000 to $65,000, in line with applicable pay transparency requirements. Total compensation may also include commission, equity, and benefits.
