Job description
Role Overview
Magrabi Health is hiring Saudi-qualified Biomedical Engineers for multiple locations, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Assir. The role focuses on independently carrying out medical equipment repairs and preventive maintenance to support patient care and maintain high customer satisfaction. You will also help train technical colleagues and support day-to-day job performance across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep medical devices and surgical instruments inventoried accurately and ensure they remain available when needed.
- Carry out troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and calibration for most diagnostic and therapeutic equipment while keeping proper records in line with the maintenance plan.
- Prepare annual plans for inspection, testing, and maintenance activities before the year begins.
- Perform preventive maintenance safely, independently, and on schedule according to the manufacturer’s instructions and equipment manuals.
- Oversee radiation safety, including laser safety, and follow the related policies and required precautions.
- Prepare and submit monthly performance indicator reports to the biomedical engineering manager.
- Guide physicians, nurses, and technical staff on correct equipment operation, both formally and informally, and provide support during surgeries and medical procedures.
- Take part actively in the facility’s education and training programs.
- Use analytical problem-solving methods to address issues, coordinating with internal teams and external contacts where needed.
- Maintain complete documentation for repairs, part replacements, calibrations, and any equipment modifications.
- Collect and share first-response details for equipment-related issues involved in patient occurrence reports.
- Flag aging or outdated patient-care equipment to senior management.
- Support the evaluation, justification, and selection of new equipment with relevant documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers as required.
- Follow the medical equipment management plan, related policies, and safety standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and professionally maintained.
- Maintain a professional standard in appearance, conduct, and interactions with colleagues, staff, and customers.
- Use downtime to strengthen technical knowledge and stay updated on procedures and technologies.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in the biomedical field.
- Saudi nationals only, as the role is for qualified Saudi Biomedical Engineers.
