Bid Manager

Role overview

This opportunity is with a fast-expanding bid consultancy looking to add a Bid Manager to its team. The position suits someone who can own bids from start to finish, write persuasively, and work well with subject matter experts.

Working arrangement

The job can be performed from anywhere in the UK, but the contracted office is in Leeds. You will need to travel to Leeds roughly twice each month at your own cost. If you prefer, there is also flexibility to spend more time in the office through a hybrid setup.

Compensation and experience

The salary range is £30,000 to £60,000 per year, with the exact figure depending on experience. Applicants need at least 2 years of bid experience. The employer is open to candidates from any sector, as bids are prepared across multiple industries.

Preferred background

A degree in a relevant subject is desirable, such as English, Creative Writing, or Journalism.

Key duties

• Guide subject matter experts through the full tender process so responses are strong, persuasive, and likely to score well.
• Use different tools to support SMEs in developing their answers.
• Draft bid responses using client interviews, library content, and online research as source material.
• Review and improve written submissions, while also giving verbal and written feedback.
• Take part in customer meetings and support ongoing communication.
• Manage bid portals and related submissions.
• Serve as a key contact for customer questions and develop trusted working relationships.
• Help customers improve their business development and bidding processes.
• Search procurement portals for suitable tender opportunities and share them with the business and its customers.
• Support presentation preparation by running meetings, developing slide content, and reviewing practice presentations with feedback.
