Position Overview

Fresh Ideas is looking to hire bakers immediately for both full-time and part-time shifts at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. This role focuses on preparing a variety of baked items to meet recipe standards, production needs, and catering demand.

Work Schedule

Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Working days and hours can differ, and additional details will be shared during the interview process.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $19.00 per hour.

Job Summary

The baker is responsible for producing baked goods according to recipes, production schedules, and quality standards while keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe.

Key Duties

• Prepare breads, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other baked items based on production and catering requirements.
• Support daily production planning so output matches expected demand.
• Follow approved recipes, production guidelines, and equipment procedures to ensure proper food preparation.
• Maintain production records, including waste, unused product, and shortages, and alert the supervisor when supplies run low.
• Ensure food is presented well, portioned correctly, and held at the proper serving temperature.
• Keep all tools, utensils, supplies, and work areas sanitary and orderly.
• Handle food safely and in line with all relevant safety rules during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and the workstation thoroughly before moving on to other tasks.
• Keep display equipment clean and free from debris.
• Support guests by responding to concerns in a courteous, service-focused way and passing issues to supervisors when needed.
• Work efficiently during busy periods while staying calm, accurate, and consistent.
• Check that food is served, displayed, and presented according to standards.
• Follow sanitation, food safety, corporate, and OSHA requirements at all times.
• Complete assigned shift duties on time and in full.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Prior baking experience is required. Candidates should be able to work flexible hours, including schedules that may vary by day and shift. Some positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening. Applicants must also be able to perform the essential duties of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
