Job Summary
The Associate – Technical Projects is responsible for supporting the Safety team in implementing the departmental safety program. This includes conducting inspections, delivering safety training, and managing the operation of safety systems to ensure full compliance with requirements for the safety of QNB Group's international assets, properties, and staff.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and best practices for safety, promoting cost-efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure the safety of all QNB Group premises and manage the provision of safety services to all departments.
- Coordinate with and manage relationships with external safety service providers.
- Proactively identify and address customer needs related to safety, continuously improving procedures to meet leading standards.
- Supervise the routine, scheduled, and emergency safety of all equipment and systems critical for QNB operations.
- Prepare daily task schedules for the safety team, along with safety and quality assurance checklists and visit schedules for bank premises.
- Develop the annual safety program for electrical and mechanical equipment across all Group premises.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing Department for the procurement of safety equipment and parts, and verify invoices for safety works and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all QNB policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and monitor maintenance costs for security equipment.
- Coordinate and monitor maintenance performed by external service providers, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures across all international QNB Group premises.
- Review and provide guidance on safety systems and maintenance contracts for international branches and subsidiaries.
- Conduct initial investigations of safety-related incidents and report findings.
- Perform safety checks to confirm the functionality of safety equipment, such as fire alarm and firefighting systems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of equipment maintenance and develop effective planning and coordination abilities for safety projects.
- Proactively identify professional development needs and pursue opportunities to stay current with industry advancements.
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures.
- Effectively perform role under the Three Lines of Defence principle for risk management.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with the Conduct Risk policy.
- Support the framework for Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRI), and incident reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank.
- Attend mandatory internal and external seminars as instructed.
- Uphold high standards of confidentiality for commercially sensitive information and customer data.
- Ensure safety procedures align with Group's Business Continuity Management and disaster recovery requirements.
- Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and market leadership.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as requested by management.
Education and Experience Requirements
A university degree is preferred, ideally complemented by Safety/Security certifications. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required, preferably within a highly-rated international bank.
