Job description

Role overview

Jurong Port is hiring a driven Associate Project Manager to help deliver business and digitalisation initiatives. This role is well suited to a recent graduate or someone at the start of their career who wants to develop in project management, digital transformation, and cross-functional delivery.

You will collaborate with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to organise project work, monitor schedules, maintain records, and support solution delivery from planning through launch and post-launch review. The position offers practical exposure to project execution, stakeholder coordination, and technology-enabled business change.

Key responsibilities

  • Help plan and run projects through the full lifecycle, including requirements collection, implementation, and post-implementation review.
  • Keep project timelines, action trackers, risk logs, status updates, and related documentation current.
  • Coordinate tasks across internal departments, business users, and external vendors so milestones are delivered on time.
  • Monitor progress, follow up on next steps, and raise risks or issues when needed.
  • Assist in creating project plans, meeting packs, governance updates, and management reports.
  • Support communication with stakeholders by ensuring updates, decisions, and schedules are properly recorded and shared.
  • Help organise important delivery stages such as requirements gathering, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and handover.
  • Support budget monitoring, effort estimates, and project cost tracking where required.
  • Work with project leads and team members to improve processes and strengthen delivery efficiency.
  • Make sure project artefacts and handover materials are completed according to organisational and SDLC standards.
  • Join project meetings, workshops, and steering discussions, and document decisions and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with Agile or Scrum practices where relevant, including task tracking and team coordination.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Exposure through internships, academic projects, or co-curricular activities in project management, business analysis, product management, technology, or software implementation is an advantage.
  • Strong organisation and coordination abilities, with the capability to handle several tasks and deadlines at once.
  • Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in dealing with varied stakeholder groups.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Basic knowledge of project management frameworks, SDLC, Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methods is preferred.
  • Experience with digital products, enterprise systems, or software implementation projects would be a plus.
  • Agile, Scrum, or project management certifications are beneficial.

Success measures

  • Projects are coordinated effectively, with timelines, actions, and documents kept under control.
  • Stakeholders remain informed and aligned on important milestones and deliverables.
  • Risks and issues are identified early and managed through to resolution.
  • Project teams receive strong structure, clear communication, and disciplined administrative support.
  • Process improvement opportunities are spotted and pursued proactively.
