Associate Project Manager

The opportunity

This role is focused on driving strong customer outcomes through disciplined project management, from order receipt through commissioning, with the goal of supporting repeat business and a positive customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Steer the end-to-end delivery of Grid Automation orders booked in Qatar.
• Track and deliver against key performance measures such as revenue, cash flow, inventory, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
• Make sure all execution activities follow company policies, contract terms, quality expectations, and health, safety, environment, financial, and schedule requirements.
• Develop and maintain solid customer relationships, ensuring timely project execution and high levels of satisfaction.
• Participate in project reviews with factory leadership and factory project managers to confirm contractual obligations are met.
• Identify risks early and handle escalations, including customer-raised issues, through negotiation and resolution.
• Plan, monitor, and control scope, schedule, and cost, while coordinating regular reviews with the Head of Project Management Team.
• Ensure the project portfolio is managed using sound methodology and internal execution standards, and that projects are formally closed in line with customer contracts.
• Coordinate customer requests related to execution as well as opportunities that may generate additional sales.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Work in line with the company’s safety and integrity values, taking accountability for personal actions and showing care for colleagues and the business.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or a comparable qualification with a strong technical foundation.
• Prior exposure to Hitachi Energy products such as IEDs and SCADAs, along with project management experience in Qatar.
• At least 3 years of project management experience; PMP certification is considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to guide teams and influence stakeholders in the project’s best interest.
• Comfortable working under pressure while delivering on time, cost, and quality commitments.
• SAP or other ERP system knowledge is an added advantage.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, high-quality deliverables.
• Ability to improve work practices by capturing lessons learned and embedding them into processes.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and cross-functional, cross-cultural teamwork.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to identify and reduce risks and challenges.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills are required.
