Role overview

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in running the boutique, serving as a key point of guidance for the sales team and a dependable contact for customers. The position is centered on delivering a refined client experience, strengthening store performance, and helping maintain the brand’s standards across service, presentation, and operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Build lasting customer relationships by staying actively present on the shop floor and delivering a premium shopping journey aligned with the brand’s philosophy, image, communication style, and CRM standards.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues in a clear, polite, and professional manner in the candidate’s native language and additional foreign languages, while listening carefully to build trust.
  • Support and oversee selling activities so that customer service and the sales ritual follow company expectations and create a distinctive experience for every visitor.
  • Work with the Store Manager to define practical goals and KPI-based targets, and contribute to achieving both store objectives and individual performance goals.
  • Help plan and deliver events and trunk shows that introduce new customers to the brand, deepen loyalty, and generate ideas for CRM initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards by ensuring visual merchandising guidelines are applied correctly, including regular coordination of the team for window and in-store display setup or removal.
  • Stay closely informed about products and new collections, and reflect the brand’s style consistently across the boutique.
  • Coach the team to improve sales and performance, flag missed opportunities to management, and provide reports on sales patterns, bestsellers, slow-moving items, customer behavior, and competitor activity.
  • Manage and motivate the team through daily boutique operations, ensuring each member receives ongoing feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Encourage collaboration and mutual respect among colleagues, and help resolve internal conflicts through group coaching or one-to-one conversations.
  • Coordinate with the stock team when needed, especially during inventory activities.
  • Make sure retail procedures and head office guidelines are followed consistently.
  • Maintain regular communication with headquarters.
  • Use the main company IT tools and keep up to date with new systems, especially Xstore and Salesforce CRM.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in retail, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role within a luxury retail brand.
  • Strong understanding of products, fashion, and the luxury sector.
  • Excellent organisational ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • High adaptability, strong people-management capability, and the ability to lead in a fast-moving setting.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Knowledge of an additional language will be an advantage.
