Role Overview

The Assistant Project Manager supports the project team with planning, scheduling, resource coordination, budget tracking, accounting support, and project controls. This role also helps provide technical guidance and maintain quality standards so that work is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in line with client contract expectations. The position reports to the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help organize project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource assignments.
  • Work with architectural drawings and specifications at a working level.
  • Use construction management platforms such as Procore or similar tools to complete assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate activities, schedules, consultants, and trade contractors alongside the project managers.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare/distribute meeting notes.
  • Visit job sites to monitor progress and assess workmanship.
  • Support budget preparation and payment schedule development.
  • Assist with contract approvals, change orders, and permit approval submissions.
  • Help manage RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, payment requisitions, and demand payments.
  • Track insurance coverage for trade contractors and maintain current certificates of insurance.
  • Support permit filing efforts with the project team and consultants.
  • Build productive communication channels across all project participants.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and laborers.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Property Management, Leasing, Asset Management, and Development Services.
  • Support project reporting and keep documentation accurate and complete.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to interpret detailed project plans, schedules, logistics, and key delivery milestones.
  • Basic understanding of construction contract structures.
  • Clear written, verbal, in-person, phone, and digital communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods and technical project details.
  • Ability to support budgeting, cash flow tracking, payment reviews, and change order control.
  • Strong organization, discipline, and self-motivation.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, eBuilder, or SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of trade scopes, field execution timing, and common scope gaps or exposures.
  • Basic understanding of MEPS systems and components.
  • Preferred familiarity with local zoning and permit requirements.
  • Bid leveling experience is an added advantage.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or technical training is preferred; equivalent education and experience may be accepted.
  • At least 2 years of experience with an interior construction management group.
  • Conceptual estimating experience is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.

Compensation and Additional Information

The offered base pay is stated in good faith and may be adjusted later. Final compensation can depend on factors such as location, years of service, specialty, education, and relevant experience. This role is bonus eligible.

Pay range: USD 75,000 to USD 95,000 annually.
