The company is looking for a motivated and collaborative Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager throughout the full life cycle of projects. This role often involves managing several projects at once, typically at different stages of completion.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of selected parts of projects, including project planning, documentation, schedule support, budget tracking, and coordination of related tasks.
- Prepare construction documentation and help maintain accurate project records.
- Support schedule development and updates with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and subcontractors.
- Track project budgets, maintain budget records, and assist with budget revisions as needed.
- Draft subcontract-specific terms and conditions for estimating purposes and support incorporation into the master subcontract.
- Assist Preconstruction during buyout activities.
- Maintain the master submittal schedule and submittal log.
- Track materials and deficiencies through the relevant logs.
- Work with the Project Manager to resolve project-specific issues.
- Support the Project Administrator with construction documentation processing.
- Handle Owner Change Order Requests from RFP through final submission of the change order.
- Prepare and distribute subcontractor change orders and related budget updates.
- Assist with preparing monthly applications for payment.
- Work with the Project Administrator and Project Manager to complete close-out tasks.
- Attend trade pre-construction meetings and participate in project team reviews of requirements.
- Record meeting minutes for owner and subcontractor meetings.
- Submit permit applications and monitor the status of all project-related permits.
- May independently oversee small-scale construction projects with limited scope and complexity.
- Support the company’s safety and health management practices by following safe work procedures, speaking up about concerns, attending and applying safety training, and helping reduce hazards where possible.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in construction-related work.
- Strong willingness to learn, openness to new challenges, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with scheduling tools, Textura, Procore, and Bluebeam is preferred.
- Approaches work and interactions with integrity, fairness, care, and concern.
- Brings a proactive mindset and looks for solutions and new possibilities when challenges arise.
- Consistently works to exceed expectations and deliver strong results.
- Periodic travel may be required.
