Job description
Role Overview
This role sits within a landmark giga-project in Saudi Arabia that is part of Vision 2030 and is being developed as a major destination for entertainment, culture, lifestyle, hospitality, retail, and related services. Because the project spans a wide range of large-scale operations, it needs strong supplier relationship management and robust oversight of supply chain risk.
The Assistant Manager - Supply Chain Risk supports the SRM & SCR team by helping identify risks across procurement categories and driving actions that reduce exposure and protect continuity.
Supply Chain Risk Management
- Spot possible supply chain risks and evaluate both their likelihood and business impact using structured risk frameworks, including operational, financial, ESG, compliance, geopolitical, cybersecurity, capacity, and concentration-related risks.
- Build and update supplier risk profiles, covering risk scores, dependency mapping, and identification of critical suppliers.
- Assist in rolling out mitigation measures and fallback plans to control identified risks and safeguard continuity of operations.
- Track outside influences such as regulatory shifts, natural events, and market movements that may disrupt the supply chain.
- Help prepare enterprise-level risk dashboards and visibility tools aligned with ERM and governance expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Gather inputs from business teams about their supply needs and supplier risk performance in order to build a clearer view of organizational supply chain dependencies.
- Support awareness sessions that teach business teams how to report supplier and supply chain risks to the SRM/SCR function and how to maintain continuity during disruptions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Guide and support junior colleagues while helping them grow through coaching and mentorship.
- Promote a team environment that is collaborative, accountable, and high performing.
Governance, Reporting, and Improvement
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of supply chain risk policies, methods, and playbooks.
- Prepare clear executive-level updates, dashboards, and management reports covering risk trends and mitigation progress.
- Support ongoing improvements to tools, data quality, and work processes used in SRM and supply chain risk management.
- Assist with audits, reviews, and compliance activities connected to supplier risk and governance.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in supplier relationship management or supply chain functions, preferably in large-scale environments such as construction, real estate, or urban development.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline; an MBA or other advanced qualification is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or CPM are preferred.
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements and familiarity with Vision 2030 are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical ability to identify, assess, and respond to risks effectively.
- Experience working across teams and balancing varied priorities with broader organizational goals.
- Strong command of English is required; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Prior work experience in Saudi Arabia and understanding of the local business and cultural environment are preferred.
