Assistant Chief Engineer

Role Overview

As the Assistant Chief Engineer, you will support the Head of Engineering in managing the hotel’s physical assets, maintenance activities, and day-to-day operational readiness. The role focuses on keeping facilities running efficiently, safely, and in line with sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Help create and roll out maintenance and engineering plans that keep hotel operations running smoothly.
• Partner with the engineering team to schedule and complete preventive maintenance, reducing breakdowns and improving equipment life.
• Assist with department budgeting by helping control costs and make effective use of resources.
• Support the Head of Engineering in leading the engineering team, including coaching, training, and performance review activities.

• Contribute ideas for equipment or system improvements that can boost energy efficiency and sustainability.

• Keep detailed and accurate records of equipment, repairs, and maintenance work for audits and reporting.
• Remain updated on engineering trends and new technologies, applying relevant best practices where appropriate.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety standards are followed in line with company policy.
