About the Role

The hiring organization is seeking an Asset Manager to support a new Brooklyn property project for a Manhattan-based real estate developer. The role is split between the Brooklyn site and the company’s New York City headquarters.

The preferred candidate will bring at least 2 years of property management experience and be comfortable working across operations, budgeting, compliance, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track property performance and coordinate with the Regional Property Manager to help drive target outcomes.
  • Manage core operational items such as occupancy, leasing activity, unit turnovers, violation resolution, collections, subsidy cancellations, and completion of work orders.
  • Build and execute plans aimed at increasing rental subsidies in partnership with property management staff.
  • Work with maintenance teams, vendors, and expeditors to resolve HPD, DOB, ECB, and FDNY violations.
  • Partner with the internal Construction Management team on capital improvement planning.
  • Make sure properties comply with local regulations and are ready for required inspections.
  • Carry out routine property visits to assess conditions and confirm maintenance standards are being met.
  • Check that work orders are created properly and that reported deficiencies are closed out.
  • Monitor controllable costs by property, analyze actual-versus-budget differences, and help prepare annual budgets.
  • Recommend value-add opportunities and work with project stakeholders to define investment goals.
  • Review agreements and support negotiations with contractors, vendors, and consultants when needed.
  • Assist with cash forecasting by incorporating current operational updates into financial projections.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in multifamily real estate or property management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Clear and effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to independently identify priorities and move work forward.
  • Comfort handling several urgent, time-sensitive tasks simultaneously.

Additional Information

This position is a full-time onsite role with responsibilities divided between a Brooklyn property and the company’s NYC headquarters.
