Job description
Role overview
This position is for an AI/ML Engineer at a frontier AI company based in Doha, Qatar. The team focuses on deploying practical AI systems for major institutions and operational environments, with work spanning enterprise automation, national-scale workflows, LLM applications, and agent-style systems. The role is suited to mid-level, senior, and lead engineers who want to build production AI that is used in the real world rather than staying at the research stage.
The organization is backed by highly regarded founders and AI leaders and has grown to a 70+ member team made up of talent from top-tier companies. Engineers here work in small, high-trust groups that own problems from architecture through deployment and iteration, with a strong emphasis on speed, autonomy, and measurable impact.
What the role involves
You will translate advanced models into production-ready products that support large-scale change. The work includes designing, deploying, and improving AI solutions that automate difficult processes across areas such as energy, healthcare, and government operations.
Expect to work closely with stakeholders, including government representatives, enterprise leaders, and industry experts, to turn ideas into practical systems. The environment is designed for people who like accountability, quick decisions, and building solutions end to end.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and launch applied AI products, including LLM-driven tools, agentic reasoning systems, data workflows, and production infrastructure.
- Work on complex, high-impact use cases that improve public outcomes and streamline critical operational processes.
- Partner directly with clients and senior stakeholders to convert business needs into deployed technical solutions.
- Take ownership of delivery decisions, move quickly, and help shape the team’s applied AI stack and practices.
- Keep pace with current GenAI, LLM, and reasoning-model developments and turn new ideas into working systems.
Profile and technical fit
Ideal candidates have practical experience building GenAI or LLM-based applications, such as agents, retrieval-augmented generation systems, or reasoning models. Strong programming ability in Python is essential, along with familiarity with one or more of PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
You should also be comfortable working across data pipelines, APIs, and production deployment environments, while bringing strong software engineering fundamentals. The company is looking for people who enjoy independence, creative problem-solving, and full ownership of delivery.
Why join
- Build systems at frontier scale that are used by governments, hospitals, and energy organizations.
- Work alongside engineers and researchers from highly respected, top-tier companies.
- Ship quickly and take ownership of outcomes, with delivery measured in weeks rather than quarters.
- Receive strong compensation, equity, and direct ownership linked to meaningful impact.
- Enjoy a support-focused package that includes daily lunches, full benefits, a 401(k), and unlimited PTO.
Location and work setup
The position is based in Doha, Qatar and is described as hybrid.
