Job description
About the company
Decagon builds a conversational AI platform that helps brands create premium customer experiences. Its AI agents are used by enterprise customers across voice, chat, email, SMS, and other channels to deliver faster, more personal, and more satisfying interactions. The company serves organizations such as Avis Budget Group, Block’s Cash App and Square, Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas. Decagon is supported by leading investors including a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures.
The company operates in person and values speed, excellence, and a strong team culture shaped by its principles: Just Get It Done, Invent What Customers Want, Winner’s Mindset, and The Polymath Principle.
Role overview
As an Agent Development Manager, you will help build and scale the team responsible for developing top-tier AI agents for customers. The role owns strategy and execution for introducing Decagon in complex enterprise environments, with a focus on smooth delivery, strong adoption, and long-term customer success.
You will define the operating playbook for agent development, including the frameworks, workflows, and standards that make delivery consistent and scalable. A major part of the job is improving efficiency through AI tools, automation, and well-designed operational processes so customers see value faster.
You will work closely with customer teams to understand their goals and day-to-day workflows, while also partnering with Sales, Product, and Engineering to turn those needs into successful deployments. You will manage complex launches, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure each rollout produces measurable business impact.
What you will do
- Own AI agent implementations from initial setup through adoption and measurable outcomes.
- Create deployment approaches that fit each customer’s objectives and technical setup.
- Increase the speed, quality, and consistency of builds by finding friction points and introducing better systems, tools, and automation.
- Use a data-led approach, communicate with confidence, and help shape a high-performing agent development organization.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate has a background in customer-facing technical work or adjacent fields such as consulting, finance, product, or project management. You should be comfortable handling complex software or AI rollouts and have a strong grasp of SaaS platforms, integrations, and APIs.
You’ll also need strong operational judgment, a track record of building repeatable processes, and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations. Clear communication is important, especially when working with both executives and hands-on operators. A collaborative, low-ego approach is essential.
Preferred experience
It is an advantage to have experience with enterprise tools like Zendesk or Salesforce, to have helped build a function or operating model from scratch, and to be a heavy user of AI tools that improve workflow efficiency and leverage.
Benefits
- Flexible vacation policy with local compliance requirements; employees in the UK receive 25 days of statutory leave.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families.
- Life insurance and disability protection.
- Retirement benefits such as a 401(k) or pension plan.
- Parental leave support.
- Fertility and family-building support through Carrot.
- Daily lunch and snacks provided in the office.
Compensation
The expected base compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $220,000 per year.
