Role overview
This position is with Pratt & Whitney, an RTX company recognized globally for its work in aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for commercial, military, and business aviation. The role is based onsite in Singapore at 51 Seletar Aerospace View, within P&W Manufacturing Services.
RTX operates through Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon, delivering advanced technology and manufacturing solutions that support aviation and defense customers worldwide.
Key duties
- Prepare and calibrate inspection equipment, process components, assess them against acceptance criteria, and record findings according to established procedures.
- Work within the certified scope of the inspection method, and when required, guide trainees and Level 1 team members.
- Understand the governing codes, standards, and contractual documents for the method, including the boundaries of each technique.
- Perform system performance verifications in line with the relevant process standard.
- Create and oversee procedures and inspection technique sheets for Level 3 NDT approval.
- Handle other assigned tasks as needed.
Mandatory qualifications
- A minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related field.
- At least 400 hours of aerospace Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience and at least 2 years of experience with aircraft structures, engines, or related components, or an acceptable equivalent of training/experience.
- Valid certification under NAS410, EN4179, PCN, ASNT, or SNT-TC-1A.
- Fundamental knowledge of product manufacturing, inspection methods, and aircraft engine maintenance.
Preferred qualifications
- Working familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
- Strong collaboration skills with solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
- Comfortable performing under pressure in a fast-moving, high-demand environment.
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement and manage multiple tasks effectively.
