Senior Structural Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join the Housing team in Adelaide and contribute to a range of residential and building projects.

What you will do

• Create high-quality, practical, and innovative structural design solutions and documentation for medium to large-scale building structures, including architecturally designed homes, unit and townhouse developments, and related facilities such as community centres and gymnasiums.
• Where required, support work on multi-storey buildings and light commercial projects.
• Take ownership of projects from the concept stage through to construction, while staying within agreed budgets and delivery timelines, with support from experienced and collaborative Building Engineering teams.
• Work with existing clients and coordinate with stakeholders from different disciplines to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Help develop graduate and junior engineers in line with the company’s goals, processes, and strategy.
• Promote a strong client-first approach across the team, with an emphasis on responsiveness, timely delivery, and professionalism.

What you need

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• At least 5 years of post-graduate structural design experience in the residential or building sector.
• Hands-on experience designing residential and low-rise structural buildings.
• Practical exposure to timber, reinforced concrete, and steel design, as well as waffle slabs, raft slabs, suspended slabs, retaining walls, and similar structures.
• Ability to use engineering design tools such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, and preferably Inducta and RAPT.
• Strong relationship-building skills for working with clients and project stakeholders.
• Advanced understanding of Australian standards and building codes, including AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, and the NCC.
