Project Coordinator

About the Role

SOOVA (Social Organisation on Various Aspects) is seeking a committed Project Coordinator to support and drive rural development work in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. The role is centered on strengthening sustainable livelihoods and contributing to community empowerment in rural areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support project activities connected to rural development initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, field stakeholders, and community groups.
• Work on matters related to agriculture, livestock, and livelihood development.
• Support Producer Group (PG) promotion and related community mobilisation efforts.
• Travel regularly and extensively across rural locations as required by field work.

Required Background

• Strong communication and coordination abilities are essential.
• Prior exposure to rural development is preferred, though genuine interest in the sector is also valued.
• Working knowledge of agriculture, livestock, and livelihood-focused programmes is important.
• Experience in promoting Producer Groups will be an advantage.
• Candidates should be ready for frequent travel in rural areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Rural Development and Livelihoods.
• Qualification in agriculture or a related rural livelihood discipline.
• MSW or postgraduate studies in Development Studies.
• Graduates with at least 5 years of experience in NGO or rural development work.
• Background in rural and allied development programmes.

Compensation

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications as well as relevant experience.
