Role Overview

Wipak UK is hiring a Print Operator to join its Welshpool site in Wales. The business is known for producing sustainable, innovative food packaging and operates to high standards, backed by AA+ BRCGS Food Safety accreditation. The site also holds Investors in People Silver accreditation and was recognised as Powys Business of the Year 2022 for innovation, people development, and continued investment.

Working Pattern

This position follows a 4-shift rotation covering 12-hour days and nights, averaging 36 hours per week.

Accommodation is available during shifts at the local print house.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves setting up and running flexographic printing equipment, producing printed output to the required specification and quality standards, and checking print quality throughout the run. You will also make machine adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce waste, carry out quick and effective job changeovers, perform basic upkeep, keep equipment clean, and follow all relevant safety, quality, and production procedures.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting, with essential experience in automated processes and printing. A strong eye for detail, a commitment to quality, reliable attendance and punctuality, good communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team are important. Flexibility to work shift patterns is also required. Experience with 5S, TPM, Kaizen, or Kanban would be an advantage.
