Principal Architect

Role Overview

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a senior architectural professional to take ownership of complex projects in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will guide design direction, coordinate delivery across teams, and help produce innovative, sustainable solutions that meet client goals and project requirements.

What You Will Do

• Take charge of architectural assignments from planning through delivery, with a focus on punctual completion and strong client outcomes.
• Create thoughtful design concepts that balance usability, visual quality, and project objectives.
• Work closely with engineers, consultants, and other discipline specialists to ensure architectural intent is fully integrated.
• Visit sites and carry out inspections to confirm the work matches approved design and specification requirements.
• Develop and deliver design presentations, reports, and proposals for clients and other key stakeholders.
• Support the growth of junior architects through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Keep up with changes in architecture, including new practices, trends, tools, and technologies.
• Ensure all design work complies with local regulations, building standards, and sustainability expectations.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and resources to maintain efficient and cost-conscious project execution.

Required Background

• A bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or an aligned field is required.
• A valid MMUP Grade A certification is mandatory.
• You should have at least 15 years of experience in architectural design and project leadership.
• Hands-on experience with stadium, building, or infrastructure projects is expected.
• You need a strong portfolio that demonstrates innovative and environmentally conscious design work.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities are important for this position.
• Practical knowledge of architectural software and design applications is necessary.
• The role requires the ability to work independently and manage several assignments at once.
• Strong written and spoken English skills are essential.
