Role Overview
Join Sobeys in Shediac as a full-time Meat Cutter and help deliver a welcoming, professional shopping experience. In this role, you will prepare meat products for customer orders and display, while also supporting a workplace that values both customer engagement and teamwork.
Key Duties
- Respond to customer needs with courteous and effective service.
- Prepare a variety of meat products for sale.
- Set up and maintain meat displays when required.
- Keep the meat department clean, organized, and well maintained.
- Receive and handle meat deliveries and orders.
- Complete special meat product requests from customers.
- Take part in ongoing professional learning and development.
- Follow company meat standards and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) requirements.
- Apply all relevant company policies and procedures in daily work.
- Carry out administrative tasks as needed.
- Train new employees and clerks on technical tasks.
- Support the Meat Manager and the Clerk Department Second Meat role where needed.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Strong understanding of department operations and meat cutting responsibilities.
- Ability to work on your own in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- High school diploma.
- At least 12 months of related experience.
Work Environment
This is a full-time onsite position based in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada.
