Role overview
This opportunity is for a senior-level M&A professional in Australia, supporting a partner company in the mobility and people transportation technology space. The role sits within corporate development and is centered on identifying, assessing, and completing acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments across several markets.
You will partner with senior leaders and teams across functions to take transactions from initial review through to close. The work is highly analytical, commercially oriented, and fast-moving, with significant exposure to a steady flow of deals across different regions and operating models. Key responsibilities
- Drive and assist with the assessment, deal structuring, and completion of acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investment opportunities across multiple business areas.
- Build robust financial models, valuation workups, and investment recommendations to support decision-making.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and outside advisors to coordinate diligence and manage transaction execution from start to finish.
- Serve as the main point of contact for target businesses, keeping communication clear and progress aligned through closing.
- Draft investment papers and deliver opportunity reviews to senior investment committees.
- Identify and approach prospective acquisition targets while keeping the pipeline disciplined and organized.
- Manage deal workflows end-to-end so transactions move forward on schedule and remain aligned with strategic goals.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a similar discipline.
- At least 4 years of professional experience, preferably with exposure to investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, consulting, or transaction advisory.
- Strong capability in financial modeling, valuation, and analytical problem-solving, with the ability to work independently on complex workstreams.
- Good grounding in business models, corporate finance, and investment assessment methods.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with senior executives and other stakeholders.
- Well-developed project management and organizational skills, including the ability to juggle multiple transactions at once.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Highly motivated, thorough, and comfortable in fast-paced, cross-functional settings.
- Ability to travel up to 10% when needed.
- Experience in software or transportation-related sectors is an added advantage.
