Position summary

This janitor role involves general cleaning and upkeep across one building or several client locations. The exact duties may vary based on client requirements, so flexibility is important. The role is scheduled for evenings and may be full-time or part-time. Pay is $14.00 per hour, and wages are paid weekly.

Key responsibilities

• Keep all floor surfaces clean through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment safely to avoid damaging floors and other surfaces.
• Service and maintain restrooms, meeting spaces, hallways, and entry areas.
• Remove trash for proper disposal, including operating a compactor for certain materials.
• Wash windows, mirrors, and glass dividers with the correct tools and products.
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and support extraction and shampooing tasks.
• Restock paper goods and restroom sanitation supplies.
• Work according to the assigned housekeeping schedule.
• Use heavier cleaning equipment when required, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Take on additional duties based on the scope of work or customer needs.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months of experience in a janitorial role. The employer will provide training on the job. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions are important.

Preferred background

Experience in cleaning or janitorial work is beneficial, along with familiarity with custodial methods and commercial cleaning standards. Knowledge of floor care tasks such as buffing and waxing is a plus, as is experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance.
